It is known that MBA means Master of Business Administration and which is a post graduate degree. It is a recognized degree which is organized to develop the business and management related abilities. MBA is course which can be pursued as a full time course or a candidate can get knowledge through distance learning or else they can do it as a part-time program. All MBA entrance exams are necessary for the candidates who are seeking admissions in MBA colleges or institutes have to appear for the entrance exam. Whenever, we think about the MBA entrance exams the first exam that strikes our mind is CAT (Common admission test). The scores of CAT are required in most of the B-Schools in India. Some more entrance exams are XAT, MAT, CMAT, SNAP, NMAT, and GMAT and so on.  There are very few colleges who consider entrance exams score for MBA admissions.

The detailed information about some of the MBA entrance exams is given below:

  • CAT

Common Admission test is the most popular entrance examination which is considered for MBA admissions. It is conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM). Common admission test scores are considered for admissions in 20 IIMs and many other management institutes which are across the country. More than two lakh of students appear for the exam each year. This exam consists 100 questions and the duration for the exam is 180 minutes. The candidates can apply for the exam by registering themselves for the exam. The applications will be released in August-September (tentatively).

  • CMAT

CMAT (Common Management admission test) is considered as the second largest management test among MBA entrance exams of the country. This exam is conducted by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). It is the exam which is accepted by more than 500 MBA institutes across India. The CMAT exam is held in January (tentatively) every year. It is a computer based entrance exam which includes four sections: Quantitative technique, Logical reasoning, Language comprehension and General awareness.

  • XAT

XAT is the third largest management entrance exam. It is also a computer based aptitude test which is conducted by XLRI (Xavier labour relations institute), Jamshedpur. The XAT scores are accepted by more than 100 management institutes. This exam includes four sections: Quantitative ability, English language and logical reasoning, Decision making and GK & essay.

  • SNAP

SNAP (Symbiosis national aptitude test) is also a national level and popular management exam among the MBA entrance exams. SNAP scores are primarily used for admission among 15 institutes which comes under Symbiosis International University.  And also many of the MBA colleges consider SNAP scores for MBA admission. Symbiosis national aptitude test is a computer based exam and the duration of the exam will be of two hours. The Symbiosis national aptitude test includes four sections to test a candidate’s ability: General English, Quantitative, Data interpretation and data sufficiency, General awareness, current affairs and Analytical & logical reasoning.

  • MAT

MAT is another most popular management entrance test among MBA entrance exams. The MAT scores are considered in more than 600 institutes for admission in various MBA programs. This exam is organized by All India Management Association (AIMA). This exam is conducted four times in a year- February, May, September and December. MAT is a 150 minutes test and contains 200 questions. This exam tests check the ability of the candidates in different sections like: Indian and Global environment, Language comprehension, Data analysis and sufficiency, mathematical skills and Intelligence and critical reasoning.
